prepopulating form field with image filename on Thumb Click

My current gallery uses javascript to dynamically change the Main image next to the thumbs in a DIV field and at the same time pre populate a form field value with the file name (for ordering prints). This gallery is all pre written html and can't easily adapt to new pages as they have to be hand scripted - hence I would love to utilise and adapt MiniGal Nano.

I am trying to work out how to remove the lightbox from the nano installation and how to capture the currently displayed image file name as a variable that can be passed to the form button and used to generate the full image in a DIV tag.

I would appreciate it if anyone could advise on the above.

I sounds like the user would then have to download all full-size images just to see the gallery thumbnails - not a good idea IMO.
